Surveys and Simulations of Large-Scale Structure

A Celebration of Marc Davis' 60th Birthday

Berkeley, California. January 16-18 2008

(ski trip January 19-20)

This conference will focus on two fields to which Marc Davis has made seminal contributions: the study of the Universe through redshift surveys, and the use of massive computer simulations to predict the large-scale structure that may be observed in those surveys. A new generation of surveys of both the local and distant Universe has recently emerged; what are we learning from these surveys and what future plans should we make in light of them? How are state-of-the-art simulations helping us to understand the latest observational results?

Following the conference will be a Tahoe ski weekend (Jan 19-20) which all are welcome to attend.  For information please follow the Ski Trip link at the top/bottom of this page.

Note: The conference poster is available in both Powerpoint and Acrobat (PDF) formats. Feel free to print and post at your home institution!
